2025 Player Outlook

If you believe the projections you should be happy with this discount on Acuna despite the fact that he could miss almost a month to start the season, but I have a hard time believing the projections. Coming off his second ACL surgery I don't expect him to immediately be back to the greatness we saw in 2023; I expect it to look more like the 119 games we saw in 2022 when he returned from his first ACL surgery. The upside is still huge but understand there is risk not just in the health, but it could also take him time to get back to full Acuna greatness.

It was a given that Acuña would run less in his return from a torn ACL, but we were still wondering how much less. He finally attempted and succeeded on his first steal in his 19th game of the year tonight. In his MVP season of 2023, he attempted 87 steals, with 73 successes, in 159 games.

Acuña is doing his absolute best to give the Braves a boost and he did help them win today, but the team is still just 5-13 in 18 games since he came off the injured list. He concluded the series against the Brewers with seven hits, including two homers, four RBI and just one strikeout in 14 plate appearances, pushing his OPS back up to 1.083.

Ronald Acuña Jr. went 3-for-4 and drove in the Braves’ lone run in Tuesday night’s loss to the Brewers.

The 27-year-old superstar poked a run-scoring single into center field off of Quinn Priester in the fifth inning, pulling the Braves to within a run at 2-1. That would be the extent of their offense. With his three-hit attack, Acuña is now slashing a robust .333/.425/.603 with five homers and nine RBI in his first 17 games.
